Terrence King, BA, LL.B., Secretary and CEO
Terry brings 20 years of experience in corporate finance and securities to the Company. A resident of Vancouver, B.C., he serves as Corporate Secretary and legal counsel. He is former Chairman of the Securities and Natural Resources Subsection (mining, oil and gas) of the Canadian Bar Association. Terry is principal of Holmes & King, an association of law corporations.
William Chornobay, President and Director
Mr. Chornobay is a businessman and Kodiak’s founder, with over 20 years of experience in mineral property acquisitions, corporate finance and managing exploration programs worldwide. Mr. Chornobay has assisted in raising in excess of $70 million CND in equity financings for resource projects since 2003. Mr. Chornobay is a leader and team builder who provides the overall vision for Kodiak. His vision and practical approach to exploration management is certain to build shareholder wealth.
Brian J. Maher, M.Sc., Vice President, Exploration
Mr. Brian Maher is an economic geologist with over 27 years of experience in the international mining and exploration industry. Mr. Maher received his BA degree (Geology) from the California State University, Chico in 1980 and his MSc. degree (Economic Geology) from Colorado State University in 1983, where he held a Colorado State Fellowship. Between 1979 and 1982, he worked at various positions for Homestake Mining Company, focusing on integrating new technologies with existing exploration programs and operations. In 1982, Mr. Maher began a 16-year career with ASARCO Inc. Mr. Maher initiated, designed and supervised exploration programs for gold and copper deposits in a variety of geologic environments throughout North and South America, resulting in the discovery of significant gold and base metal resources. From 1998 through 2002, Mr. Maher operated a successful geologic consulting business, emphasizing geologic modeling, resource estimation and business planning, to multiple junior, mid-size and large mining organizations. Between 2002 and 2004 Mr. Maher was Project Manager for Metallic Ventures Gold Inc., supervising underground and surface exploration at an underground gold mine in Nevada. In 2005, Mr. Maher joined Hochschild Mining PLC. At Hochschild, Mr. Maher was involved in all aspects of the company’s North American exploration program, serving as the Exploration Manager for the US, Canada and Mexico. Responsibilities at Hochschild included supervision of exploration and mine development programs, economic analysis of acquisition candidates and developing new corporate strategies. Mr. Maher is a member of the Society of Economic Geologists and the author of numerous publications on economic geology.
David S. Hunt, P. Geo., Regional Exploration Manager
Mr David Hunt has more than 30 years experience in the mineral sector, specializing in gold exploration. He received his BSc degree in geology from Carleton University in Ottawa. After several years with the Ontario Government in the Timmins Resident Geologists’s Office he joined Dome Exploration (Canada) Ltd. and later Placer Dome Inc. where, he managed gold exploration projects throughout Ontario for 17 years. During the past ten years, as an independent consulting geologist, Mr. Hunt has carried out and managed gold exploration projects for clients in Red Lake and northwestern Ontario. David has extensive experience participating in and managing grass-roots to advanced-stage projects, including evaluation and modeling of producing and past-producing mines.
Mr. Hunt is a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada and a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, and is a Director of the Northwestern Ontario Prospectors Association, the Ontario Prospectors Association and the Ontario Exploration Corporation
Robert B. Hawkins, M.Sc., P.Geo., Chief Consulting Geologist
Bob has over 35 years experience as an exploration geologist in the western US, Canada, Alaska, Finland, Sweden, Mexico, and South America, with emphasis on base and precious metals, IOCG deposits, porphyry copper and molybdenum in a variety of geologic environments. He is credited with the initial discovery and development of the Jerritt Canyon district in Nevada and the discovery of the Richmond Hill gold deposit in South Dakota. He has participated in all roles and phases of exploration including field geologist, project management, consulting, and VP of exploration. Bob was educated at the Idaho State University, receiving his B.Sc. (Geology) in 1971 and his M.Sc. (Geology) in 1973. He started out his geology career with FMC Corporation in 1969, later moving on to Freeport McMoran where he worked for 14 years in a variety of roles including Senior project Manager, Senior Geologist, and District Exploration Manager. He has also worked with Independence Mining Company as and Exploration Manger, and with Cobre Mining Company, Metallic Ventures, and American Bonanza Gold Corp. as the VP of Exploration. He has also acted as a geological consultant to United Bolero Development Corp. and Northland Resources. Bob has written a number of publications that have been published in industry journals, including articles on disseminated gold deposits and porphyry copper deposits. |
